Genetwister has been granted a MIT RVO subsidy for two years to understand the genetic mechanisms underlying a complex trait, how the taste in tomatoes is linked to the genomic characteristics. In this ambitious project, Genetwister will collaborate closely with a tomato breeder, Axia vegetables, to develop models that can predict the organoleptic properties of tomatoes based on their genetic makeup.
