In the field of genomics, sample sizes and marker panel sizes are increasing. This strengthens the power to pinpoint genomic regions of interest. Also, the decreasing costs of sequencing boosts the sample throughput in molecular genomic projects. To make the best use of these new technologies, appropriate methods are being developed to process the samples for these analyses, which is a focus point for Genetwister. The Molecular Genomics team continuously scouts and evaluates novel genotyping approaches for different crops, e.g. diploids and polyploids.
